Microsoft shows three Windows Phone 7 Series devices at MIX10

Apart from all the developer stuff that Microsoft officials talked about at MIX10, the company also showcased three of the Windows Phone 7 Series devices that will hit the market some time by the end of the year (or maybe early next one). We have already seen two of them – the Asus phone, which was used during the introduction of the new operating system, and the LG Panther side-slider that got unveiled a bit later. The third phone surprisingly turned out to be some kind of a WP7S version of the Samsung OMNIA HD. The phone looks exactly the same, and Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore mentioned that it has a “terrific camera”, so this could really be a new, “reloaded” version of the smartphone.

Unfortunately, other than the video below, where you can see the three handsets, there are no additional details or specs. What we can show you though is a list of Windows Phone 7 Series’ minimum requirements, so all of these three smartphones (and the rest that will follow) will surely have the following features.

  • Capacitive touchscreen with 4 or more contact points
  • Two screen resolutions: 480x800 and 480x320 pixels
  • A-GPS, Accelerometer, Compass, Light and Proximity sensors
  • 5MP camera or more with flash and dedicated camera key
  • Native DivX support through DivX6
  • 256MB RAM or more, 8GB Flash memory or more
  • GPU with DirectX 9 support
  • CPU ARMv7 Cortex/Scorpion or better
